Day 2 - Cologne Christmas Markets

You have a free day to enjoy the wonderfully festive atmosphere of Christmas time in Cologne. The city has six markets - each with its own unique character. All offer a special selection of gifts, decorations, arts and crafts aswell as traditional stalls selling sausages, wine and beer. Visit the wonderful floating market held on board MSWappen von Köln, the medieval market at the Chocolate Museum with musicians, acrobats and craftsmen, or the market in Roncalliplatz beneath the Cathedral, which has the biggest Christmas tree in the Rhineland. Days 3-4 - Cologne, Passau and Kehlheim

Leaving Cologne on Day 3 we travel by rail to Passau and transfer by coach to our home for the next four nights, TC Belvedere. The pace of your holiday is set by you alone - you may wish to take part in optional excursions (payable locally), enjoy the facilities on board or simply relax and watch the world drift by. After sailing up the scenic Danube, on Day 4 we arrive in the charming Bavarian town of Kehlheim this afternoon. (Day 3-B,D; Day 4-B,L,D)

Day 5 - Nuremberg

We arrive in Nuremberg, where we moor for the whole day. See the fabulous ramparts which surround the city, and visit the Christkindlmarkt, one of the world's most prestigious and atmospheric Christmas Markets. Its brightly coloured stalls radiate from the Market Square in the Old Town with the unmistakable aromas of Advent in Germany. (B,L,D)

Day 6 - Regensburg

This morning we sail towards Regensburg, which boasts one of Europe's best preserved medieval city centres. Free time here allows you to visit the popular Christmas Markets. This evening we sail towards Austria. (B,L,D)
