The stylish, historic Danish capital, one of Europe's most vibrant, modern cities, puts on a special show with its Christmas Markets. As the festive season approaches Copenhagen's shops, bars and cafes are dressed in their festive finery, and the streets glitter with twinkling lights and colourful decorations.
Itinerary
Day One - Fly to Copenhagen and transfer to your hotel, then perhaps head out for dinner. The Danish word 'Hygge' - roughly translated as 'warmth' but really meaning the conviviality that comes with a meal, a beer or a snack in cosy surrounds - just about sums up all that is good about the city.
Day Two - Today we'll visit the delightful Christmas markets of the Tivoli Gardens. But before we head there, our included guided tour will introduce Copenhagen's major sights, including of course the city's most enduring symbol, the bronze statuette of the 'Little Mermaid'.
Day Three - Continue exploring Copenhagen, today, or join our optional excursion to the historic Swedish city of Malmo. Here you'll discover a delightful city arrayed behind the eye-catching 'Turning Torso', which towers over the waterfront, with it's own colourful Christmas markets selling local specialities.
After a memorable day, return to Copenhagen for a last evening, perhaps sitting down to a traditional 'Christmas Table' of cold dishes followed by roast pork or meatballs.
Day Four - Spend the morning relaxing, or shopping, then transfer back to the airport for check-in and your flight home at the end of a "wonderful, wonderful" Christmas markets' break.
